How should i style my thick, medium length hair?

i never know what to do with it, so i just end up tying it up everyday.

sometimes i straighten it, but it still looks pouffy.

i cant curl it either cause then my hair gets REALLY pouffy.

my hair is thick curly and poofy. And all I do is wet it down, brush it, and then run gel through it....TONS of gel. I hate it but I get lots of complements! good luck and may the force be with you!

have you ever thought about getting some layers? i have thick medium lenghth hair and after i got layers it made a heck of a difference! layers will get rid of some of that thick/puffyness and make it easier to style! goodluck!

I also have medium length brown hair and I love putting it in a single french braid or 2 french braids, it looks really cute and people seem to like it. I also put it up into a half up half down look and do a topsy tail (when you leave it rather loose and flip the ponytail back through a hole you created for it to be a twisted look) and it looks really good.
