I would say half up and curled. Put it up first then for not so fancy curls I would use a 1 1/2 inch barrel curling iron to curl the rest and hair spray. It doesn't take a lot of time but definatly looks like you put forth a lot of effort.

Straighten it. This will get rid of most of your problems unless it's too short, and you might need hair gel if it is. By the way, don't listen to those people who give you lame comments about hair - I'm a guy, and I grew my hair out 13 inches at one point and that doesn't make me feminine in the slightest. Hi, I think you would look great if you let your hair grow to just before it covers the back of your neck all the way and then highlight it, it would look really nice. unfortunatly with the texture of your hair , any new style could cause damage. straighteners r bad. so is braiding, for me as a rule i never braid curls . you could use a comb and part your hair different or try ponytails or barettes . i use little rubber bands to make pig tails, and i use clips to do different stuff too. bangs help as well as you can stle them and leave the rest of your hair go.

You are limited to what you can do but I think if I were you I would let it grow longer and see if the weight will make the curls less tight. NO BANGS for very very curly hair! They end up looking weird and even if you style them it's a very dated look....not modern. Also, rubber bands and barettes cause damage and breakage so I would avoid those as well. If you want to wear it up you can get great bands that are covered so your hair won't get tangled. They are made by Goody. The best thing you can do for your curls are keep them healthy. Don't use chemical straighteners because they are very damaging. Just love the hair you are gifted with. :)

I also have medium length brown hair and I love putting it in a single french braid or 2 french braids, it looks really cute and people seem to like it. I also put it up into a half up half down look and do a topsy tail (when you leave it rather loose and flip the ponytail back through a hole you created for it to be a twisted look) and it looks really good.

i have a very similar hairstyle and ive found that a sidepart with one longer layer works well for me. I would recommend against shorter layers, as they tend to get a little fluffy if you're wearing your hair at that length

after a hairbath dont dry your hair completely. comb your hair in the ouward direction. this will curl your hair. if you are allowed then tie plaits taking little hair. by the end you will have all of your hair tied in many thin plaits. leave it on for a day. it will give a permed effect. if the thickness of your plaits is less then it will look like a perm. if the thickness you take is a little much then it will look like curls. try it on a day u dont have to go out. or else oil your hair and tie a single or double plaits. keep them tied for a day. even after your hair wash keep tying plaits. no ponies. after a few days your hair will develope waves.

Well wat u can do is that

1.side partition ur hair %26amp; cut a the long flick (just the partition flick) till the length of ur face.(just like my avatar)

2. besides ur flick , start braiding ur hair from a mediun length i.e startin from just above neck .( d whole lot of hair)

3. keep it for an atleat 3 hours.

4. then just open it and just see the new , temperory and funky look.

What can I do with my medium length hair?

My hair is cut at a slight angle, so the back is a little shorter than the front (probably about 1/2" shorter than the front). It's straight, fine, thin, and blonde. It doesn't generally hold a curl well, unless done tightly and I only have 1/2" curling iron and a roller set from before I cut my hair a week ago. What can I do to mix it up a little? Anything flippy at the ends is a no-go.

buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.

then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......

and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.

and as for just regular hairstyles, i would try sidebangs or whispy bangs instead of thick ones......dont know about the cut i might have to see the shape of your face, sry....

you can also do buns, because they are pretty in, or low pigtails, but you might be a little old for them, but my sister in college looks cute in them so i dont know.....

as for hairbands, very cute and in!!! definitely!!!

It depends on the look you want to achieve. General guidelines: any moisturising shampoo, use conditioner only on the tips if you need it(it seems to have great results but in the long run it damages your hair and makes you dependant). Always hairdress as soon as possible after you leave the shower, the wetter your curls are when you hairdress the more defined and beautiful they'll look.

For a more casual look after you get out of the shower distribute some hair controlling product in cream, making sure you cover all your head but dont use too much, you might want to divide your hair in sections to do this.

For a more sofisticated or elegant look do the same but insted of cream use styling mouse. I don'l like gel because it gives a phony look and if you want to change your satyle later in the day your hair will look opaque and dull.

And remembre: NEVER BRUSH YOUR HAIR WHEN IT'S DRY, that will only cause a lot of unwanted freeze in your hair and force you to go for the ponytail.

Take that in to consideration and any style you choose will do fine.

I would suggest lots of choppy layers, as well as some wisps cut into the bangs. This style works great on any face shape, instantly updates your current dated style and works especially great on straight hair, because it will give the illusion of waves and more volume. Any questions, just ask!

Have you seen the book Curly Girl by Elaine Massey yet? Or checked out the book Curl Talk by Ouidad? They both discuss special cutting techniques for curly hair. They are both NYC stylists but Ouidad has hair salons that have been trained in her technique in other places, too.

There's also a guy I heard of recently who has what he calls special "tunnel cuts" that both curl and shape, but also thin out the the hair, but he claims only he can cut hair like this!

Look for Andie Macdowell pics wearing her hair both curly and straight-- using the same haircut. Her naturally curly hair is very curly, spirally type curls and very thick. But her hair is very fine. If she had bushy or wiry hair, some of her styles would be so big, they'd be bouffants!

Don't cut your hair shorter than chin length with our type of hair, regardless of layering technique or the type of cut used, or you'll end up with "pyramid hair" which is a triangular-shaped afro! Or worse, "football helmet head". And you'll have to use tons of product, that make the hair look stringy, wet or crunchy, to get it to lay properly at that shorter length.

My opinion and experience with 40 years of dealing with curly hair that is truly curly and not just wavy, is that to have it look the best in all weathers, and to give you some versatility, you either have to crop it close to the head (less than 1-2 inches in chunky sections all over) or go really long (past shoulder length, with "bangs" or layers no shorter than chin length).

Otherwise the bangs pouf up wierdly or on the sides of the head, you get "dog ears" hanging down in weird shapes or chunks when you wear it "wash and go" curly.

Now, if you want to straighten it every day or wear it up or back while curly, you can cut it above shoulder length and layer it all over, but be aware that when you do that it must be kept up/back or straightened or you will have a flyaway mess with no real shape or style to it. But it will be very light and thin and will look great when straight.

blow dry your hair you dong have to do it all the way and put in it says headress then volume leavin coditioner it makes your hair less poof than put your hair in a pony tail and straiten the pony tail to make it straight quicker but not to strait but alittle wavy still and then just go overit it takes me like 5 minutes if i dont get distracted but it can take like 10 minutes

thats if you want to leave it down though or you can just do the same thing and keep it in a pony tail

Pull your hair up in a ponytail. On the last time you're pulling your hair through the elastic band, only pull it half way. Put the ball of hair on the bottom and let the free hair "spray" from the top. Your hair sounds just like mine was a month and a half ago. I started using sunsilk anti-frizz shampoo, conditioner, and 24-7 creme. You may want to try the anti-poof kind instead though. When you go to the stylist, get it THINNED. I have really thick hair, and getting it thinned out w/ thinning shears or even a razor is very helpful. Also, adding some layers will probably look nice too. You don't want so many that you can't pull it back into a ponytail though.

get a hair straightener or blow dry it straight with blow dryer (this is harder if you don't know what ur doing)

you can also scrunch it, after you get out of the shower flip your hair over and use gel or mousse to scrunch it all over, let it air dry or use a blow dryer (this is easy, but it make become frizzy so air drying is the best)

try Pantene Texturize products, its really good! if you want to scrunch with that

try a braid to the side of your hair, its cute and a step up froma pony tail

Play! Its best to set your hair in rollers first, or big barrel curls, and then start grabbin handfuls and pin like mad. I am a stylist, and these messy updos always look the best! You can NOT mess them up, and skill level is zero. Also, try playin around with colors too. That will make any doo look completly different!

PIN CURLS....IF you have bobby pins..the ones with the clamps you need to twist the hair into a cirlce and then put them on there they have to be a ttached to your head o and dont forget to part your hair. right greasy hair - use tea tree shampoo and conditioner - tea tree oil is good 4 greasy.dandruff, soothing sore scalps and its anti bacterial etc. avpid putting conditioner on ur roots as it will make it greasy..midlength and ends only

as for flatness...try having layers cut into ur hair if u havent already, use volumising products (T.I.G.I. root boost and queen super star for a day), avoid putting products on ur roots unless it says so - mid length and ends only, and tip ur head up side down and blast ur boots, it will give it a bit of oomph!

I have curly hair too and I know that fear... try a short trim first... see how bouncy your hair can be... then go for the shorter style if you still want it... I find I keep forgetting how much my hair curls up after a cut!

If your hair is too thick when you try to flat iron, then maybe you should have some layers cut into it. And use a heat protector before styling, it seems to help the flat iron work better.

Alright, this is the scoop on this. My hair was like my Avatars but recently I cut my hair short for that foh hawk look. It was fun while it lasted but I am more of a fan of wake up and go hair maintenance.

Well so here's my predicament: I have that really bad length where its bulky on all sides, making side of my longish face look poofy and the bangs go about 1/2 maybe tiny bit farther down the front. The back is also heavy which is great cause it will let me get the most out of my styling when its finally long enough to be cut. How ever, every morning I wake up I want to cut my hair short. I absolutely hate it at this medium length point and its taking forever to grow out. Literally been weeks at this bad length almost like it stopped growing.

Possible Reasons: Well I haven't had it cut in like 2-3 months (no english based hair salons near my house), also my eating habits have droped. and stress is high from first year polytech.

My sis had black dyed hair. Went to a midlevel salon (not cheap buy not too spendy either). Cost her $150 which included the tip. However, her brown hair totally washed to an icky color after a couple weeks, so she felt she got ripped.

Just let your hair grow out to its natural color. Stripping is very risky, damaging, and costly! Not to mention results are not guarenteed. :/

Me 2. What i do is get layers in my hair make it less thick and then straighten it when i go out. but not all the time heat can damage it. hmm...ok u shuld by CPR MOTIONS hair treatment. wen u shampoo ur hair dry ur hair but make sure is damp wit soem water in it styll.

then. put a generouse amount in your hair keep it on for 30-45 min den rinse aftetr you hair dries, u dun wont it completly dried. u can start pressing your hair ( straighting) it. notice that u dun put any oil on ur hair while ur straitng ti beacuse this could fry it. u put oil on after u straighten it.

many people think that beacuse your hair is fair you don't need to put any HAIR OIL on it this is not true. EVERY time you wash your hair you are losing some of your NATURAL HAIR OIL. that is why some of you get DANDRUFT. also you don't need to wash your hair everyday!!! this also takes away ur natural hair oil. wash ur hair 1-3 times a week. this is not nasty it could prevent damage 2 the scalp.

you can cut your hair a lil past your shoulders and get it layerd. or up 2 your middle neck.

before you do this though take POLORID picture of you with your hair parted in the middle. ( take about 6 pictures this way) then take a pernament marker n shade in about how much hair you want to cut. this will give a an idea of how u would look after oyur 'hair cut'

Right all you need to do is buy some hair mousse!! Seriously spray loads of it into ur hand flip ur head over and scrunch the mousse into ur hair.. i have curly-straight hair and it makes my hair seriously curly so if you have straight hair its going to make ur hair wavy.. it lasts for ages as well until u wash it.. its great and its easy to do but its also cost effective! .. hope this helps = ) have fun!!

Straightening your hair can make it less greasy but you have to do that at night cause you have no time in the morning. My fave hairstyle is the clip-back the top half of your hair and leave your fringe down hairstyle. If you have to wash your hair in the morning then scrunch it and put a pretty clip.

Don't trim it at all ,your hair sometimes needs to get beyond a certain point before it grows longer.

You've never had a relaxer? Hmmm, idk I was going to say maybe your hair was damaged. Did you dye it?

Also, are you straightening everyday? If yes, that is VERY damaging to your hair! Especially if you don't use a heat protectant!! Before you straighten always use a heat protectant like "Chi Silk Infusion" (it's so expensive and I hate that, but at least it leaves your hair silky and protects it) or Joico Daily Care Leave-in

all you have to do is start combing your bangs to one side of your face add a little hairspray so they will stay put. eventually they will start staying to oneside naturally.

shampoo only 2-3 time a week but use a increasing shiny conditioner daily. Then wrap your hair in a towel for 3-5 mins and put it in a slopping but anywhere from 30 mins to 1 hour and 30 mins. Take any mousse and scrunch, scrunch, scrunch!!! Then what i do is part my hair to the side.

Works everytime and believe me my hair is very curly and very frizzy. but not frizzy when i do this!

I would suggest you find some one who razor cuts. With the razor they can thin your hair.

As far as the frizz factor goes there is a product by "I. S. O." called "Bouncy Cream". It will control frizz. It does work. I have natural curl myself and use the product daily. Will not leave your hair hard or wet looking.

"I. S. O." is not sold in stores only available in salons. Call the salons in your area and find out who carries "I. S. O."

So I'm stuck having to figure out a hairstyle that works for curly, puffy, thick hair. I've had long hair for most of my life so no suggestions less than two inches. A quick note is the last time it was medium length my hair decided to fight gravity and do the mushroom hairstyle until it grew longer. To reiterate because i know someone will miss the hint. I'd rather fight the stylist to the death than get a buzz cut of any sort.

I had the same prob not to long ago, but I just cut it off. Seeing you don't want to cut it -- here are a few options.

1) Put it into braids. -- That way, you don't have to worry about it getting into your face for annoying you while you work.

2) Curl it -- this is my fav option, cause i think it would kind of offset the roundness of your face, but it is also the most work.

3) Half-Back -- this is a kinda of last resort cause you said you don't want your hair back. My suggestion is to twist to little peices of it then hold it in with a clip. That style is very in right now.

Is your hair long, short or medium length? or are you bald or shave your head?

My hair is fairly short... I prefer it short... but it grows really fast and sometimes it gets to medium length. When I was in early high school I wore it long for awhile, past my shoulders... I was into heave metal back then.... I've had a really short buzz cut, but that was back in '89... I've often wondered what it would be like to shave my head, maybe I will try it someday.

Also, in high school, after I cut my long hair, I had a mustache for a couple years... then a few years later I grew a full beard for a few months... in the past ten years, I have worn a goatee for a few months at a time on about 5 or 6 different occasions.
