i have a very similar hairstyle and ive found that a sidepart with one longer layer works well for me. I would recommend against shorter layers, as they tend to get a little fluffy if you're wearing your hair at that length
with curly hair, i also find that simpler styles are better since the curls make up for a lot

use a very light gel (antifrizz by loreal studio) and scrunch your hair with it..straighten your bangs (if u have any), if not straighten a medium thin section of your front hairs and place it to the opposity side (so it looks like a bang).
OR
take all of your hair and twist it up, then take a large alligator clip and place it on the twist..so your hair falls back..

heyy me too. lol. i like that style when your hair is in a poney tail and it has that bump in the front center of your hair.
